Strawberry Picking at Nelson Produce

Recently, we visited Pam Nelson Farm and had the most fun strawberry picking and feeding the little farm animals with the girls. It was such a fun afternoon and we just had to take some pictures while doing it.

STRAWBERRY PICKING AT NELSON PRODUCE

We began our day, by taking pictures at the sunflower patch (see the blog post here), and then wound down our afternoon by picking some strawberries for the first time ever! We were either really early, or really late to the patch though, with most of the strawberries being harvested already, so the search felt more like an adventure looking underneath the foliage and plants to see if any special gems were missed. It actually made it a little more fun and Everley LOVED the feeling of actually finding one!

We gathered up our finds after strawberry picking, in our little pink basket, and took the strawberries home to make smoothies and have a cute little picnic in the backyard. I can’t believe how much Ayla loved eating them. She had maybe six or seven to herself! I even let them get messy, which is totally out of character for me. Strawberry juices all over their clothes, but I’m learning that they’re only kids once, and to let them get a little messy every now and again.

Trying something new like this was actually a great little family date idea. Feeding the animals, goats, sheep, and calves was so sweet to do with the girls and we made some really lovely memories this day. Looking back on these photos brings a huge smile to my face.
