Well, it’s finally here. We finally can welcome our “Little LaLa” to the world and our hearts couldn’t be fuller. So, without further adieu… Born at 2:49pm in the afternoon on June 6th, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska, our little LaLa safely entered this world and completed our family. Weighing 7lbs and 9oz, with a full head of hair and the chubbiest cheeks and most kissable little features. Born naturally after a fairly short 8-hour labor.
I know the information everyone is really waiting for though is to hear her name, so here it is…

You may be wondering about pronunciation as the spelling of Ayla can be said two ways depending on its origin. We chose the Turkish pronunciation and meaning, which is said “eye-la”. In Irish circles it’s often spelled “Isla”, but when we saw this alternate spelling we fell in love as it’s a little more unique and unheard of, while still being a name that people have heard of before. Her middle name, Lottie, is often a shortened name for Charlotte, but I have always admired the nickname version since I was a little girl myself and when I mentioned it to Rohan he loved it as well. So, we decided to use the playful name as Ayla’s middle name.
Our Little Ayla Lottie. I just love saying it, reading it, hearing it. I think it’s just so pretty. Welcome, precious girl!
The meaning of her name was also so beautiful, even though we only discovered it after deciding we wanted to use it. In Turkish/Persian it means “halo of light around the moon” or more simply, “moonlight”. We love this, and it reminds us of the vastness of God’s creation of our universe – yet He still makes tiny little humans with such amazing detail and purpose.
Little LaLa was her nickname while she was in my belly from about 20 weeks when we had decided on her name.
Did anyone guess it would be Ayla from our nickname hint?

I love that Everley can already say her name, and knows who she is! She has already surprised us at how good of a big sister she can be, and we are so overwhelmed with joy and love watching her protect and cuddle little Ayla. I cannot wait to watch them grow up together as sisters. Still blows my mind that we now have two little girls.

WELCOME LITTLE ONE
Everley & Ayla are both wearing adorable little rompers from H&M, and matching babies breath flower crowns made by Etsy seller, Lauren Ashlen Boutique.
The pastel pillow is from Walmart and the blanket was a gift (similar here).
